Introduction

Jeff’s career began in 1990, upon enrolling in Guilford Technical Community College’s Land Surveying curriculum. Employment was secured within one year, where a foundation of knowledge and hands-on skills were established. The next year, 1992, Jeff received Associates degrees in Land Surveying Technology and Civil Engineering Technology. The next four years he progressed from rodman to instrument operator to crew chief in the field, as well as performing deed research and drafting duties. During these formative years, he was guided by other experienced and well-respected Professional Land Surveyors, with whom he still has close relationships. Upon receiving his NC license in 1996, Jeff led the Charlotte branch office of a surveying and engineering firm from startup (one-man) to an office of 3 field crews and 2 CADD Technicians. He received his SC license in 2000. The valuable experience gained during that 12 year period led to the incorporation of a new company – Allen Geomatics, P.C. in 2008.
